As you probably know, Gali Garage Door is a family-owned company that started operations in Katy, Texas, two years ago. We arrived in a town where we had no relatives, no close friends, just a dream and the determination to build something meaningful. Along the way, something unexpected happened: this community welcomed us with open arms. Neighbors became friends. Clients became supporters. And strangers became people who showed up when we needed them most.
That kindness stayed with us.
We’ve learned that giving back doesn’t always start with something big. Sometimes it’s a smile, a kind word, a helping hand. Things that may feel small to the giver, but mean everything to the one receiving them. Those moments change lives.
With that belief, we began volunteering, donating supplies, and supporting local efforts whenever we could. At first, it was personal and quiet. But we felt called to do more. After the tornado, we offered free garage door and opener inspections to help families feel safe again.
Then, we noticed something important: many garage doors being replaced weren’t broken at all. They were still fully functional, some almost new, just swapped out for a different style or color. So, why not reuse them? Why not give them to a family that truly needs one? This year, that question led us to Shawnna.
Shawnna is a devoted nurse, a mother of three, and the heart of a beautiful family. Her garage door wasn’t just outdated; it was a safety concern for her home and everyone around it. When she opened her garage -and her heart- to us, we knew this was exactly why we started this journey.
In just one day, we replaced her old door with a safe, fully functional one. But what we gained was far greater than what we installed.
